Back and Buttock Lift in Baltimore
For many people who have undergone a significant weight loss, the shape or size of their backside can discourage them from showing off their incredible results. Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Ringelman works hard to ensure all of his Baltimore clients are comfortable and confident in their own skin. For this reason, he offers a buttock lift, or gluteoplasty, to improve the appearance of the buttocks.
As a “Baltimore Magazine” Top Doctor, Dr. Ringelman will help guide you through the process of your buttock lift starting with your initial consultation to discuss your goals and expectations for your surgery.
What is a Buttock Lift?
If you are dissatisfied with the shape or appearance of your buttocks, you may benefit from a buttock lift. A buttock lift can help address concerns such as a small, asymmetrical, or sagging buttocks.
A buttocks lift typically goes together well with weight loss patients and can be used to add the finishing touch to their body contouring procedures. It can help give the appearance of a sculpted, lifted backside and give you a renewed positive body image.
How is a Buttock Lift performed?
During your initial consultation with Dr. Ringelman, you will discuss the options for your buttock lift procedure. Procedures are performed under general anesthesia.
- Weight loss patients will generally require removal of excess, sagging skin in order to lift the buttock to the desired position. If additional buttock volume is required, tissue that would normally be discarded can be fashioned into a flap, which can then be inserted into the newly lifted buttock.
- Alternatively, gluteal implants can be placed to enhance the buttock. Ringelman will skillfully insert the implants to provide a better shape to your new backside, based on your specific goals and desired outcome.
What does a Buttocks Lift recovery look like?
Like any plastic surgery, you can expect to experience some swelling, or bruising near the incision site. After your procedure, you will wear a support garment that is designed to help your body fully heal. The recovery time is about 2-3 weeks for most buttocks lift patients.
As bruising and swelling decreases in the following weeks, you will begin to see your new, natural results. The complete results will take several months before fully visible.
Why choose a Buttocks Lift?
The shaping and enhancing of a gluteoplasty can help a person feel comfortable and confident once again. Diet and exercise can help you lose weight but often are not enough to give you a sculpted backside. “Baltimore Magazine” Top Doctor Dr. Ringelman is committed to guiding all of his Maryland clients through the surgery process by helping answer any questions and creating a personalized treatment plan for your individual needs.
